Grrreta's Viewer Mail - Vol. 5 - Pet Names

This installment of Grrreta's Viewer Mail features another letter from one of our viewers asking for advice. We appreciate your help to answer our perplexed reader's question. Here it is: Dear Grrreta's Readers, My mommy usually calls me by my real name, but every once in a while she calls me by a pet name. She thinks it is sweet, but it's embarrassing. She calls me... (I shudder to even think of it) ... Poodlebear! Do any of you other kitties get called embarrassing pet names too? Sincerely, Schmrrreta (not my real name), a.k.a. Poodlebear

Minchie here. Mom calls me Mincharoonie hot dog toonie. Now, that doesn't even begin to make sense. She also calls me her Little Man. What! I'm a big Mancat!

Laila here. For some reason I really have no nicknames but she does call me her Winey Baby a lot.

My mom calls me "Baby" all of the time. I'm not a baby, I am a teenager now!

The name that everyone calls me is not even my real name! You should just accept your pet name and demand more treats.

You wouldn't believe the amount of nicknames we get called, and they are all embarrassing.

Grrreta, my Momma calls me Monster Kitty or Simonese. They aren't embarrasing though, and she thinks the first nickname is self explanatory ... hee hee! When I am being a monster sometimes she calls me things I can't repeat ... sigh!

I think nicknames mean you are loved! I get called Silly-butt, Monkeybones Jones, D.Z. and many others. Sometimes Harley gets called Harley McSnarley! Even though he does not snarl or growl.

I know what you mean! My mom thinks it's perfectly fine to call me Mr. Foofyhead. I cannot understand what makes her think this is okay. She's nuts!

Nicknames are a sign of affection. You - uh, your reader must be very loved.

Yeah, I hear a lot of weird names. My strategy: I just don't pay attention to the embarrassing ones.

My name is Fuifui Moimoi. My beans call me Fattyfatty Moimoi. And that is probably the nicest! You know the 'Black Betty' song? They changed the words to "Whoa fat tabby, bambalam". Then there is Fatso, Tabby Fat, Fatty McTavish and the toddler (because I'm the height of a three year old when I stand on my back feet).

Evie gets called Eviesaurus.

Suey has lots of names too. The bean's favourite is Sausage, or Miss Cat.

Poodlebear, huh? That's just as embarassing as Tippy-do.
