Grrreta's Viewer Mail - Vol. 4 - Meows
This installment of Grrreta's Viewer Mail features another letter from one of our viewers asking for advice. We appreciate any suggestions that may help answer our perplexed reader's question. Here it is:
Dear Grrreta's Readers,
My brother, Schmambrose (not his real name), doesn't know how to meow like a normal kitty. Instead, he makes a funny high pitched noise that sounds a lot like a little girl on a roller coaster squealing "wheeeeeeee" in a very soft voice. Is that normal? What funny noises do you other kitties make?
Sincerely, Schmrrreta (not my real name)

Schmrrreta, tell your brother not to feel bad. My mommie is embarrassed by my meow. She says it sounds like one of those horns you blow on New Year's Eve. And it's LOUD!
Minchie MEOW!
Oh nooooooooo! I fear that letter may have been written by one of my sisters because I have a tiny high voice!
Variety is the spice of life, so Schmambrose is just spicing up your life.
My meow was broken when I was a baby, at the Vet, so I don't really sound like a normal cat either.
My mom says my meow is weird because I sound more like a human saying "meow" than a cat saying the same thing. I think she is full of goofy!!
Purrs,
Stygia
I can woof like a dog (but I am an Honorary Husky so that makes sense), and I also growl. Weird noises are more interesting than normal ones, so do not be worried!

My littermate brother LB alwayz had a tiny meow...more like a squeek all hiz life. He waz a big kitty tu, 18 poundz! It waz funny that liddle squeek commin out of that big mancat!
Smudgie
My brofurr Flynn laffs at me cuz I have a little quiet meow. He's got an ear splitting yowl.

Well, Schmrrreta, for as many different varieties of cats there are as many varieties of cat voices. All of them are normal and unique! For instance- I mumble under my breath and it sounds like I am worrying. My best buddy Grayson has a teeny meow and it always surprises people when they hear him. Our Mom's office kitty Feather growls when she hears someone approaching the door, much like a woofie would. It's all good! -Gandalf
Nothing wrong with that at all.
My mancat meow is barely audible most of the time. The PM has to be looking at me to actually tell if I said anything.
Once in awhile it gets a little louder but rarely.
Purrs Goldie
I, on the other hand have a perfect meow.
Shade
Dear Schmrreta,
It sounds like Schmambrose has a very special and unique voice. I do not know how to "meow" but make noises like "mrrrrrt" instead, or sometimes little hoots. The more different cat voices, the better!
We all have something beautiful, that make us stand out from the rest. This is what makes us unique! You are special!
Sen-Chan sometimes sound like a crow. That "aak, aak, aak" sound!
